Rassundari Devi’s *Amaar Jiban* (My Life), written in the mid-nineteenth century, is widely acknowledged as the first full-fledged autobiography written by a woman in Bengali literature. Composed in a context where women were denied literacy, education, and public expression, Rassundari’s act of writing was itself an act of defiance and self-assertion.
