The fisheries sector is one of the most significant components of rural livelihoods and natural resource management, contributing to food security, nutrition, and income generation globally. In many coastal and inland communities, fisheries provide not only a source of protein but also employment opportunities across the value chain, including capture, processing, marketing, and trading. However, gender issues in fisheries have often been overlooked despite the critical role women play.
