Farmers Producer Organizations (FPOs) have emerged as an important institutional mechanism to enhance the income, bargaining power, and market access of small and marginal farmers. Since individual farmers often face constraints such as limited landholding, lack of access to credit, poor infrastructure, and weak negotiation capacity in markets, government support becomes essential for promoting collective action through FPOs.
