The National AIDS Control Programme (NACP) is a government initiative launched by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, to prevent and control the spread of HIV/AIDS in the country. It is implemented by the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), which was established in 1992. The programme aims to reduce the new HIV infections, provide care and treatment to people living with HIV (PLHIV), and create awareness among the population.
