Arabic and Persian Historiography

Arabic and Persian historiography refer to the study and writing of history in the Arabic and Persian languages, respectively. Both traditions have a rich and complex history, with early works dating back to the 8th century.

In Arabic historiography, early historical works were primarily annals, or chronological records of events.
