Adolescent Friendly Health Clinics (AFHCs) are an important component of adolescent health services under national public health programmes and play a significant role in strengthening maternal and child health outcomes. These clinics were initially introduced under Adolescent Reproductive and Sexual Health (ARSH) strategy and later strengthened under Rashtriya Kishor Swasthya Karyakram (RKSK). Their main purpose is to provide preventive, promotive, curative and counselling services specifically designed to meet the physical, psychological and reproductive health needs of adolescents.
