Judicial review is a technique by which the courts examine the actions of the legislature, the executive and the other governmental agencies and decide whether or not these actions are valid and within limits set by the constitution. The foundation of judicial review is (a) that the constitution is a legal instrument, and (b) that this law is superior in status to the laws made by the legislature that is itself set up by the constitution.
