A Tree Plantation Drive was organized in our institution as part of the environmental awareness and community engagement initiative under the theme “Green Earth, Clean Earth.” The event aimed at instilling a sense of responsibility towards nature and promoting ecological sustainability among students and the community. The drive was conducted on the occasion of World Environment Day, observed every year on June 5th. The program was jointly coordinated by the Environment Club of our institution, the local municipal body, and several NGOs that work in the field of environmental conservation. Preparation for the event began a week in advance. The organizing committee conducted awareness sessions, seminars, and poster-making competitions to motivate students and residents to actively participate in the plantation drive. Various responsibilities were assigned, such as procuring saplings, arranging tools, selecting plantation sites, and coordinating transportation. The saplings were provided by the Forest Department and included native species such as neem, peepal, gulmohar, banyan, mango, and jackfruit. These trees were chosen for their adaptability, ecological value, and long-term benefits to biodiversity. On the morning of the event, volunteers gathered at the college campus by 8:00 AM. A brief inaugural ceremony was held, presided over by the Principal, local ward commissioner, and the head of the Environment Club.
