Samkhya philosophy is dualistic realism. The two principles which makes Samkhya dualistic system, is the presence of two absolute principles of Purusa and Prakrti, each diametrically opposed to the other. While purusa or self is awareness, pure and simple, Prakrti is Jada, material. Buddhi is a term or principle or apparatus which help the two opposed principles to a point of mediation.
