Why do we need gender awareness in planning and policy making? Explain.

The Gender Policy is closely aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which make explicit commitments to  gender equality, both as a stand-alone goal on gender equality and women’s empowerment (SDG5) and as a theme cutting across all the  SDGs. An aim of combating climate change is to promote mechanisms for raising capacity for effective climate change-related planning and  management in the least developed countries and small island developing States, and includes focusing on women from vulnerable  communities. The Gender Policy will be consistent with and linked to the existing relevant frameworks, policies and standards of GCF as well   relevant policies that GCF may develop in  the future.
