A One Person Company (OPC) is a type of business structure introduced in India that allows an individual to start and run a business as a separate legal entity with limited liability protection, but with the convenience and flexibility of a sole proprietorship. OPCs are unique in that they have only one shareholder, who acts as the Director and the authorized signatory of the company. The concept of OPC was introduced under the Companies Act, 2013 and is governed by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
