Explain the National Action Plan on Climate change.

The National Action Plan on Climate Change (NAPCC) is a comprehensive policy initiative launched by the Government of India in June 2008 to address the challenges posed by climate change while maintaining the country's path of sustainable development. Rooted in the country's developmental priorities, the plan is an integral part of India’s domestic response to global climate issues. It aims to enhance the ecological sustainability of India’s development path and encourage a shift toward low-carbon and climate-resilient growth.

The NAPCC is guided by the principles enshrined in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), particularly the principle of “common but differentiated responsibilities and respective capabilities.” India’s approach, as reflected in the NAPCC, acknowledges its developmental imperatives and seeks to integrate climate action with its economic and social development objectives.
