Sri Aurobindo’s theory of Reality is a comprehensive spiritual philosophy that attempts to explain the entire universe as a progressive manifestation of the Divine. He rejects the traditional opposition between Spirit and Matter and presents a philosophy of integral realism in which Brahman, Matter, Life, and Mind are interconnected stages of one ultimate Reality. According to him, Reality is not merely an abstract spiritual principle nor a mechanical material existence; it is a dynamic process of divine manifestation. For Sri Aurobindo, the ultimate Reality is Brahman, which is the infinite, eternal, and absolute existence. Brahman is both transcendent and immanent. It exists beyond the universe as the supreme spiritual consciousness and also manifests itself within all forms of existence.
