On the one hand, these nations are striving for rapid economic growth, industrialization, and improved living standards for their populations. On the other, they are increasingly confronted with global concerns about climate change, environmental degradation, and resource depletion. The perspective of developing countries on the energy–environment debate is shaped by their developmental aspirations, historical responsibilities, technological capacities, and socio-economic realities. Unlike developed nations that have already achieved high levels of industrialization and now emphasize environmental protection, developing countries view energy as a fundamental necessity for poverty eradication, social equity, and inclusive growth.
