Frank was born Annelies Marie Frank, in Frankfurt, Germany, on June 12, 1929. Her father, Otto Frank, was a successful Jewish businessman in Frankfurt, where Anne and her older sister Margot, had a comfortable and happy childhood. a) Culture today must have a wider mass basis, and language, which is one of the embodiments of that culture, must also have that basis.
