For instance, women are frequently portrayed as caregivers, homemakers, or objects of desire, while men are shown as strong, rational, and dominant figures. These portrayals can be seen in advertisements, films, television shows, and news media. For example, in Bollywood films, female characters often occupy secondary roles, and their narratives revolve around male protagonists. In advertising, women are commonly depicted using beauty products or cleaning items, reinforcing the idea that their primary role lies in appearance and domesticity. However, recent years have seen a growing movement toward breaking gender stereotypes, such as Ariel's “Share the Load” campaign, which challenges domestic gender roles in Indian households. 2. Racial and Ethnic Representation Media plays a critical role in shaping racial and ethnic identities. Historically, many racial and ethnic groups have been underrepresented or misrepresented.
