Discuss the powers and functions of the President of India.

Powers of the Presedent of India are given below :

1. Executive Powers
Article 53 provides that the Executive powers of the Union shall be vested in the President but we need to read it with article dealing with the Prime Minister and his/her council of ministers which exist to aid and advice the President in the exercise of such powers and related functions. However, while using this power, the President is bound to consult his council of ministers and as per the 44th amendment, s/he may ask it to reconsider any given advice, nonetheless, if such advice is sent back to the President after reconsideration then s/he
