Small-scale industries (SSIs) have played a significant role in India’s economic development by generating employment, promoting entrepreneurship, encouraging regional development, and supporting inclusive growth. From a gender and entrepreneurship development perspective, government policies for promoting small-scale industries aim not only to increase industrial production but also to create opportunities for women entrepreneurs, disadvantaged groups, and rural communities to participate in economic activities.
