Interstitial lung disease (ILD) is a group of disorders causing progressive scarring of lung tissue, leading to impaired gas exchange and respiratory function. Nursing management in critical care conditions focuses on stabilizing the patient, optimizing oxygenation, and preventing complications.  

1. Airway and Respiratory Management:  
- Assess respiratory status frequently, including rate, depth, and effort of breathing.  
- Monitor oxygen saturation (SpO₂) and arterial blood gases (ABGs) to detect hypoxia or respiratory acidosis.  
- Administer supplemental oxygen as prescribed, using a high-flow nasal cannula or non-invasive ventilation (NIV) if necessary.  
- Ensure proper humidification of oxygen to prevent airway dryness.
