The elements of event pricing are-

Cost of Holding an Event This is the sum of inventory or stocks in the beginning plus the purchases made and the production undertaken. Beginning inventory is usually stocks at the start of the year, while purchases and production are during the current year. It is to be noted that purchase cost and production cost may vary during the year. However for service industries like the event industry, production of goods is almost negligible and the cost of goods would account for the set up cost of an event like venue, decoration etc.

All the factors contributing to pricing for event ticketing, namely market segment, geographic location, reputation of the event company, sponsorships, social proof and price anchoring, play an essential role in determining the price of the event. However, as an event planner one should understand that low pricing cannot sell bad product on a sustained basis. Therefore, it is highly crucial for the event planners to first know what their customers exactly want and what they can spend. Once the event planners have decided on what to offer to their customers, they should work on estimating its cost in terms of labor, vendors, suppliers and so on.
