Attempt a critical note on seasonal migration as a strategy of survival for the hunting-gathering tribes of India.

Seasonal migration of tribe from one placeto another occurs mainly in search offood as it dominates most of their lives and occupies most of their time earntheir livelihood by working as labourers in plantations, agricultural farms,factories and also collection of forest products etc. Some of the main cause ofthe seasonal migration mostly happensdue the economic problems and mostimportant are; unemployment, shifting cultivation, lack of educational facilities,poor living condition, restriction in forest land, land-alienation (some what liketaking away land by some one else or by forcible grabbing or other method) etc.Another important cause is the cultural contact with the urban societies and which is changing their social and cultural institutions.Although these activitiesprovide them with better livelihood but in most cases they are being misuse bytheir employers for their ignorance
