A simple CRUD application for billing of a Medical Store using JDBC and Java GUI can be developed by integrating Java Swing for the user interface and JDBC for database connectivity. The application performs Create, Read, Update and Delete operations on medicine records and generates bills for customers. Necessary assumptions include the use of MySQL as the backend database, availability of JDBC driver, and a table named `medicine` with fields such as medicine_id, medicine_name, company, price, quantity and expiry_date. Another table named `bill` may store bill_id, medicine_id, quantity_sold, total_amount and bill_date. The first step is to establish database connectivity. The JDBC API provides classes such as DriverManager, Connection, Statement, PreparedStatement and ResultSet. The MySQL JDBC driver is loaded using Class.forName("com.mysql.cj.jdbc.Driver"). A connection is established using DriverManager.getConnection() by passing database URL, username and password. Proper exception handling using try-catch blocks is necessary to handle SQLExceptions. The GUI can be developed using Swing components such as JFrame, JLabel, JTextField, JButton, JTable, JScrollPane and JPanel. The main frame titled “Medical Store Billing System” contains input fields for Medicine ID, Medicine Name, Company, Price, Quantity and Expiry Date.
