Entrepreneurship plays a vital role in the economic growth and social development of a country. In India, the government has introduced several contemporary programmes to promote entrepreneurship, with a special focus on inclusivity, innovation, and gender equality. The goal of these initiatives is to nurture startups, support small and medium enterprises (SMEs), encourage women entrepreneurs, and foster a culture of self-reliance. Among the many initiatives, two notable programmes of the Government of India that support entrepreneurship are the Startup India Initiative and the Stand-Up India Scheme. Both programs are designed to encourage entrepreneurial ventures across various sectors and regions, while also ensuring participation from underrepresented groups like women and marginalized communities.
