The Indological perspective emerged primarily from European scholars who were fascinated by India’s ancient texts, languages, and civilizations. These scholars, often linguists, historians, and philologists, sought to understand India through its classical literature, such as the Vedas, Upanishads, epics like the Mahabharata and Ramayana, and legal texts like Manusmriti.
