If the items bought are 50 or less, then a rebate of Re. 1 per item and for purchase of more than 50 items, rebate of Rs. 2 per item. Find the cost function. What are the points at which this is not continuous?

Q. 2 A stereo manufacturer determines that in order to sell x units of a new stereo, the price per unit, in rupees, must be p(x) = 1000-x. The manufacturer also determines that the total cost of producing x units is given by C(x) = 3000+20x.

a) Find the total revenue R(x).

b) Find the total profit P(x).

c) How many units must the manufacturer produce and sell in order to maximise profit?

d) What is the maximum profit?

e) What price per unit must be charged in order to make this maximum profit?

Q.3 A sum of money is deposited by Krishna which compounds interest annually. The amount at the end of 2 years is Rs. 5000 and at the end of 3 years is 5200. Find the money deposited and the rate of interest.

Q. 4 The profits (in Rs. Lakhs) earned by 100 companies during the 1987-88 are shown below. Compute (a) Mean, (B) Variance, and (c) Standard deviation by using items and their squares.

1. कोई दुकानदार 20 या कम वस्तुएँ खरीदने पर प्रत्येक वस्तु के लिए 25 रुपये लेता है। यदि वस्तुएँ अधिक खरीदी जाती है तो वह कुछ छूट देता है। यदि 50 या कम वस्तुएँ खरीदी जाती है; तो वह प्रति वस्तु 1 रु. की छूट देता है; तथा 50 से अधिक वस्तुएँ खरीदने पर प्रति वस्तु 2 रु. की छूट देता है। लागत फलन ज्ञात कीजिए। किन बिदुओ पर यह फलन संतत नहीं है।

2. कोई स्टीरियो (stereo) निर्माता निर्धारित करता है कि एक नए stereo की ऍक्स इकाइयों को बेचने के लिए, मूल्य प्रति इकाई (रुपयो मे) P(x)= 1000 - x होना चाहिए। वह निर्माता यह भी निर्धारित करता है कि ऍक्स इकाइयों को निर्मित करने की कुल लागत C(x) = 3000+ 20x द्वारा दी जाती है।

क) कुल राजस्व R(x) ज्ञात कीजिए।

ख) कुल लाभ P(x) ज्ञात कीजिए।

ग) निर्माता को कितनी इकाइयाँ निर्मित करके बेचनी चाहिए ताकि लाभ अधिकतम हो ?

3. कृष्णा द्वारा कोई धनराशि चक्रवृद्धि ब्याज पर जमा की गई, जबकि ब्याज प्रति वर्ष संयोजित होता है। 2 वर्षों के अंत में मिश्रधन Rs 5000 है तथा 3 वर्षों के अंत में यह Rs. 5200 है जमा की गई राशि तथा ब्याज की दर ज्ञात कीजिए।
