Cloud Computing is a model that enables ubiquitous, convenient, and on-demand access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources such as networks, servers, storage, applications, and services. These resources can be rapidly provisioned and released with minimal management effort or service provider interaction. In simpler terms, cloud computing allows users to access and use computing power and storage via the internet, without having to own or manage physical infrastructure directly.

Cloud computing has become a foundational element in the advancement of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. IoT refers to a network of interconnected physical devices that collect and exchange data using sensors, software, and other technologies. The vast amount of data generated by IoT devices requires scalable and efficient computing solutions—something cloud computing offers through its on-demand infrastructure and high data storage capacity.

Difference between Cloud Computing and Cluster Computing, Grid Computing

While all three—cloud computing, cluster computing, and grid computing—deal with distributed computing, there are key differences among them in terms of architecture, resource management, and operational purpose.

1. Cluster Computing:  
   Cluster computing involves a group of linked computers (nodes) working together as a single system. These nodes are usually located in the same physical location and are tightly coupled, often sharing the same hardware and software environment. Cluster computing is used for tasks that require high performance, such as scientific simulations and data analysis. It offers high availability and fault tolerance but lacks the flexibility and scalability of cloud computing.

2. Grid Computing:  
   Grid computing connects computers across multiple locations to solve a single large problem by dividing the work among many machines. Unlike clusters, grid computing systems are loosely coupled and heterogeneous. The primary purpose of grid computing is to utilize unused computing resources across a network.
