Cartesian dualism is René Descartes's concept of dualism, dealing with the dual existence of man.
He believed that man consisted of-
1. Mind(sometimes equated with soul) and
2. Matter(body)

He believed that the human body and mind were two separate things.
For e.g., You can cut off your leg or poke your eyes out, but that would in no way affect or reduce your mind. Because your mind and body are two different substances.

Descartes doubted everything except -
1. He was thinking
2. Thinking requires a thinker, i.e., him.
3. Therefore, he exists.
