Half an hour into the flight, the hijackers suddenly announced their presence in the plane. Panic ensued as passengers screamed and cried out for help. Fear clutched the heart of eight-year-old Sammy as he sat next to his mother, clutching her hand tightly.

Sammy’s mother, Laura, had always been nervous about flying, but Sammy had been excited about their trip to visit his grandparents. He had looked forward to seeing them and playing with his cousins. However, now, all he could think of was the danger that they were in.

Sammy looked around the plane, searching for a way out. He saw a window near him and wondered if he could open it and escape. But he knew it was impossible. The plane was flying high, and even if he could open the window, he would not survive the fall.

Suddenly, one of the hijackers came towards their seat and pointed his gun at Laura. "Get up," he said in a menacing tone. Laura got up, trembling with fear, and Sammy clutched her dress, not wanting to let go.

The hijacker led them to the front of the plane where other passengers were being held hostage. Sammy could see fear and despair on the faces of the other passengers. Some were crying, while others were praying. He could hear the hijackers shouting in a language he did not understand.
