1. Properties of Lewisite

• Chemical Structure: Lewisite (chemical formula: C₈H₆AsCl₃) is an organoarsenic compound, a type of chemical warfare agent.
• Physical Appearance: It is a colorless or slightly yellow liquid with a distinctive odor similar to that of geraniums.
• Boiling Point: It has a boiling point of around 211°C (412°F), which means it can remain liquid under normal conditions but evaporates at higher temperatures.
• Solubility: Lewisite is soluble in organic solvents, and it is relatively insoluble in water.
• Toxicity: It is a potent vesicant, causing blistering of the skin and mucous membranes. It is also highly toxic when inhaled or ingested.

2. Mechanism of Action
