Navjote
Navjote, also known as Navjot or Navjot Sanskar, is a significant initiation ceremony in the Zoroastrian faith, commonly practiced by the Parsi community. It marks the initiation of a young Zoroastrian child into the religious and social life of the community. The term "Navjote" is derived from the Avestan language, where "Nav" means new and "Jote" means life, symbolizing the new life that the child is entering as a practicing Zoroastrian.
The Navjote ceremony typically takes place around the age of seven for both boys and girls. It serves as a rite of passage, where the child is introduced to the religious teachings, values, and practices of Zoroastrianism.
