Historiography as re-mebering the lack

Historiography:

Historiography is the study of how history is written, interpreted, and understood. It goes beyond the mere recording of past events, delving into the methodologies, biases, and perspectives that shape historical narratives. One intriguing aspect of historiography is its role in re-membering the past, particularly through the lens of absence. This refers to the exploration of what is missing or overlooked in historical accounts, and how these gaps can be filled or understood. In this essay, we will explore how historiography engages with the concept of absence, highlighting its significance in shaping our collective memory.
