The National Geospatial Policy, 2022 is a citizen‑centric framework notified by the Government of India under the Ministry of Science and Technology to strengthen the geospatial sector and integrate geospatial technology and data into national development, economic growth and governance. It builds on earlier liberalisation efforts from the “Guidelines for acquiring and producing Geospatial Data and Geospatial Data Services including Maps” of 2021 by laying down a comprehensive roadmap for the holistic development of geospatial infrastructure, skills, standards, businesses and governance mechanisms.
