: TOOLS OF SUPERVISION

It can be divided into:

1) Standardised tools

2) Non-standardised tools.

Standardised tools of supervision may be considered all of the psychological tools which are of llke e.g. Attitude scale, interest scale, personality scale etc.

Non-standardised tools You may consider these tools which are developed by the individual supervisor e.g.: interview schedules, observation tool etc.

TECHNIQUES OF SUPERVISION

“The supervisor must grow as the programme grows.” Adam and Dicky. An effective supervisor is able to mould the techniques so as to suit him in achieving the desired ends.

Different techniques:

1) Visits may be of three in nature

a) with prior intimation

b) with surprising visit

c) with an invitation by the school

2) Supervisor’s meetings and conferences of the staffs are another technique of supervision. ,

t Techniques of supervision are:

i) Group conference

ii) Individual conference.

iii) Anecdotal record

iv) Assistance with bedside care

v) Reassurance

vi) Supervision of nursing procedure

vii) Conferences

viii) Incidental teaching .
