Rural areas have historically formed the backbone of the Indian economy and continue to play a crucial role in its overall development. Even in the present scenario of rapid urbanization and technological advancement, the contribution of rural areas remains significant across multiple sectors such as agriculture, allied activities, industry, employment generation, natural resource management, and socio-cultural stability.
