Syngamy:
Syngamy is a crucial process in the sexual reproduction of angiosperms, involving the fusion of two gametes to form a zygote. In angiosperms, the male gamete, which is the generative cell, fuses with the female gamete, the egg cell, leading to the formation of a diploid zygote. The process of syngamy occurs during the fertilization of the angiosperm flower.

The pollen tube, an extension of the pollen grain, penetrates the ovule through an opening called the micropyle. The generative cell travels through the pollen tube and reaches the ovule, where it fuses with the egg cell present in the embryo sac. This fusion results in the formation of a zygote with a complete set of chromosomes (2n), initiating the development of the embryo.
