Aspect Bhagavad Gita Buddhism
Concept of Rebirth The soul (Atman) undergoes a cycle of birth, death, and rebirth (samsara) until it attains liberation (moksha). Rebirth occurs within the cycle of samsara, driven by karma, without the involvement of an eternal soul (anatta or non-self).
Nature of Self The self (Atman) is eternal, unchanging, and identical with Brahman (the ultimate reality). There is no permanent self (anatta). The individual is a collection of five aggregates (skandhas) that dissolve and reassemble at rebirth.
