The Bardoli Satyagraha was a non-violent resistance movement launched by farmers in the Bardoli taluka of Gujarat, India in 1928 against the excessive land revenue imposed by the British colonial government. It was one of the major peasant movements during the Indian independence struggle and was led by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who later became the first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of independent India.
