Gandhi's concept of Swaraj is central to his social and political philosophy and goes far beyond a mere political slogan for independence. Swaraj, in Gandhi's understanding, signifies self-rule not only at the national or political level but also at the individual and social level. For him, true Swaraj involved the development of moral, spiritual, and ethical capacities in individuals, which would then collectively translate into a self-governing society.
