The Vijayanagar Empire, which flourished from the 14th to 17th centuries in South India, was known for its efficient administrative system. The local administration of the Vijayanagar Empire was particularly notable for its detailed structure, regional autonomy, and integration of traditional systems with centralized authority. This decentralized yet controlled administrative model contributed significantly to the longevity and prosperity of the empire. The local administration was not only responsible for revenue collection and maintenance of law and order, but also played a key role in managing the agrarian economy, temples, irrigation systems, and trade. When we view this administrative structure in relation to Modern Indian Language: Bhojpur, we find an interesting comparative cultural and administrative legacy—especially how regional administration functions, adapts, and continues over time. The local administration of the Vijayanagar Empire was organized on several levels—village, district, and province. The entire empire was divided into *rajyas* (provinces), *vishayas* (districts), and *nadus* or *kottams* (smaller districts), down to *gramas* (villages). Each level of this hierarchy had specific administrative officers responsible for various duties. At the village level, which formed the core unit of local administration, self-governance was a key characteristic.
